Now that I have you, do you think it possible to add an image of yourself to your profile?
I ask for a couple of reasons - and I know this is an old topic but I have a new twist to it, which is totally selfish - the first reason is that the Great Savannah GTG is coming up and ya'all just know that I will be taking tons of pictures and posting them. With you posting your image with your profile I can cross reference and not get your name wrong the first time 'round. (I will be using the attendance sheet and your profile, possibly.) The other reason is that I like to have your image in my minds-eye when I listen to you.
So, could you attach your picture. How about in your favorite spot, that may be at home or on one of your travels.
Would love to see you.

Wendy, wonderful thread. I remember one of the older ones where people were shamed into posting a picture. That makes it so much more fun to put a face with a name.
I always click on the newcomers hoping that some of them will post a picture, but usually I am disappointed.
OK everybody -- get to posting those pix! (insert icon of mean person with whip)
Wendy--thank you!!! I'm usually the one beating this drum. I often check and am disappointed when there is nothing there. I also like to know where people are based. Hopefully, people will pay attention to you.
I, too, always check the pictures, so thanks for posting this very reasonable request. I wonder if most of the "new people"(I was one of them once) come to this EE forum, at all???
And it's not just pictures....I'd love to know a little more about where people are from, what their interests are, etc, but usually when I check someone's profile there's no informaton! I recently clicked on the profile of a moderator and there was NOTHING! NO picture, NO info at all.
While I can understand newcomers not wanting to reveal too much info, there are plenty of us who know each other literally and/or figuratively, and who know this site is wamr and welcoming.
I'll not only second the idea of posting your photo, I'll also ask that you check your profile and tell us a little about yourself!
Okay Wendy, you sucked me in with the title, but I'm still not on the picture bandwagon. I hate, hate, hate having my picture taken. I can't state that any more clearly. Probably as a result of my attitude, I haven't seen a picture of myself that I liked in about ten years.
But I'll consider it, since you asked so nicely.

OK I changed my picture. I always had one but I changed it to one of me in front of the Diego Rivera murals in the Palacio Nacional in Mexico City in December. Plus I added "watching TV" to my interests, as I have watched a lot of TV lately!
And like Jan said, many people don't read the Everything Else forum so it might be good to put a reminder in the Everything about Travel forum as well.
I was wondering if I should possibly post this same request in the 'introduce yourself' threads. Any suggestions, any moderators reading this with any ideas?
This is great, Wendy! Deborah has been singing this song for as long as I've been a member of this fantastic site. I've also been ranting about it from time to time, so this might be the straw that breaks, so to speak.
What about taking photos of everyone at the Gathering and then those can be new images for anyone attending?
Ellen, what is that AGHKKKK all about? That is a gorgeous photo of you! Gorgeous...truly. Now I can imagine your face when I read your posts. Like seeing where someone lives so I can imagine them there when we are talking on the phone or chatting online...same, same.
I don't know a single person who says, "HEY!!! Lookee here, this is a stunningly beautiful photo of me, isn't it?" We all dislike our own photos, so nothing new here!
I really like the photo on my profile, not of me, but 'cause it has my darling oldest granddaughter in it with me. I also think it's been there for a few years, so maybe this is the time to make a change. As long as there is no photo of me in Savannah at your Pilates class, I'm good with it!

I really like the idea of putting this on the introduce forum.
I understand that some people have a stronger need to feel anonymous than others.
I hope seeing this thread will encourage them.
