Hello, This website has been invaluable in planning my trip. I appreciate all the postings and particularly the apartment/agency reviews. I decided to use Comfortalia and booked the Farnese II. There have been NO reviews written since 2005. has anyone stayed here more recently?
Uh.... Earline.... Debrah... Doru? Where's the welcoming committee? Must be sleeping in this morning!
Welcome, 'wife! Glad to hear the SlowTrav has been helpful for you. As far as Comfortalia, I'm not sure why there haven't been any reviews in the last 2 years. Truth be told, I'm not up on that. Perhaps someone who's more in touch with the Italian agency scene might have a thought.
In the meantime, don't hesitate to post any other questions or comments you have.
Welcome to SlowTrav City! We've had reviews for ComfortItalia since 2005 but maybe not for Farnese II. Here's one from last year for Farnese I and if you page down on this page, Alpha list by Agency - Italy Vacation Rental Reviews, to ComfortItalia, you'll see more reviews for the agency at least.
kim and dave, thanks for the "welcome" and the link to the recent farnese I review. Wondering if you recommend purchasing tickets in advance for the colosseum and borgehese gallery? If so, can that be done online? any suggestions regarding best day or time to visit the vatican. In general please give me your suggestions regarding Rome in 3 days. thanks
I think that most people around here would probably recommend getting advance tickets for both the Borghese and the Colisseum - but it might depend upon when you're going. The message board search function will help you out in finding previous threads where those topics have been discussed.
I just googled Borghese Gallery tickets for you and it lead me here.. Just click on the link in the upper left hand corner to proceed.
As far as other Rome activities, search the Italy forum or ask a question there/here.
Best,

Getting a Roma pass would solve the problem of gettijg tickets ot the Colosseum and Villa Borghese in one stroke. Roma pass It's and excellent value. The cost of a 3 day bus/Metro pass is 11 euros. The Roma pass is good for 3 days of transport on buses, trams, the metro and the train to Ostia. You get 2 free museum/sites admissions (the remainder are half-price) and 3 days of free transportation. Roma pass allows you to bypass the ticket lines for the 2 free admissions. if you buy it online you can pick up the Roma Pass at the Internet sales Window (no line) and go straight into the Colosseum. Using the RomaPass to see Villa Borghese you still have to make a reservation. Buying a roma pass online. If you buy the Roma pass online, you get a receipt that you print. YOu pick it up at the Colosseum (or Palazzo Altemps, also I believe, near Piazza Navonna), but not in that long ticket line. There is an Internet sales window all the way at the end of the ticket area. You walk past on the left, the people in the ticket buying line. You give the person at the Internet sales window your printed confirmation and he gives you the Roma pass. You take out the site admission part (there is a transport ticket that is separate), and give it to the person at the gate and walk right in. http://www.romapass.it/english/index.html http://www.ticketclic.it/Gb/HTML/musei/RomaPass_transport.cfm
