Chris, perhaps we need to send a Private Message to Pauline in order to not disrupt the respectful and friendly tone we look for at SlowTrav.

Amy, as penance maybe we could send her to the centrally located Puma Imperial Hotel in Ulan Bator for a coupla days — I'm sure someone out there will say it's the perfect base for daytrips — plus it has a snooker billiard room, after all.

I have always wanted to see Mongolia, and would have gone earlier if I had known the hotels have "TV with remote control, cable movie channels. Telephone, message, air-conditioning, iron, ironing boards on request, FM radio, mini-bar, hairdryer, bathrobes." Thanks Bill!!

Pauline, It was really thoughtful of you to post you April Fool's joke in Europe's time zone. (given your unreasonable affection for Mountain Time) Wink

Bill, I don't see any links about day trips. Can you do the Great Wall of China as a day trip from there?

Now you move my post to the "Rest of the World" forum!! Even I don't read this forum (unless I catch the word Switzerland).

It isn't because I live in the Mountain Time Zone that I favor it so much, it is because it sounds good - "Mountain Time" - like "what time is it in the mountains?".

Since we are now discussing US time zones, I am copying the thread to the North America forum.

Bill, I'm beginning to favor the more traditional punishment for royalty.

Hmmm...So if I post a recipe here (which Pauline will have to prepare and eat as a penance) would that mean that Amy will then feel compelled to copy this thread to the food forum. We all know how involved Pauline is in the Food/Drink/Recipe forum. Wink
