We are going to Borneo in February so I have been on the look out for articles on South East Asia. It is still a bargain area although the prices have been going up. This Sunday's New York Times had a couple of articles on the region. Here are a few highlights includes some from earlier this year.

36 hours in Siem Reap Cambodia

Return to Java

Living in Bali's Shadow - Lombok Island Indonesia

36 hours in Phnom Penh

36 hours in Luang Prabang, Laos

Yes South-East-Asia is still a good place for travellers looking for cheap holiday. Apart from globe recession your dollars will drive
you further there.

Thanks Marta you had many interesting articles post here.

Travel services in Vietman, Laos and Cambodia have been especially cheap this year, 2009; which is some 30% compared to 2008. Even though there's fluctuation in the exchange rates between the US Dollars and other currencies in which the US Dollars appreciate in value, it's still a bargain to travel to the once-Indochina now. Have a great trip to Boneo!
