Fabulous time in Mauritius. Stayed at Sofitel Imperial in Flic-en-Flac. Expensive, yes, though far superior to the other (even more expensive) 5-star hotels we visited. High recommendations. The island is paradise, particularly the southern coast, but we didn't see everything. We gelled completely, taxied around, rented a car two days, went scuba diving, water skiing and parasailing... It's far from America ... in every respect.

I thought Mauritius was off the coast of India, but it is off the coast of Africa:

It's off the coast of Madagascar. But it's quite far out to sea. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to reeeeeelax and enjoy warmth and water.
