I enjoyed Cape Town during our visit in 2005. We were there in the spring so our focus was wildflowers. And we did some wine tasting. Will you have a car? Are you interested in day trips? In Cape Town, we also did the typical items; Visit the VA Center, Took the tram to the top of Table Mountain, took the double-decker bus around town. As far as places to eat, we didn't eat out much. We had a rental most of the time. We had wanted to go to Madame Zingara's but we couldn't get a reservation. We did eat at a couple of places in the VA (Baia, Willoughby). Baia was probably a bit overpriced. We also ate in our hotel, Metropole hotel, at the Veranda restaurant. If you are interested in day trips, we enjoyed a drive around the cape, stopping at Boulders Beach to see the Penguins, walked to the Cape point and drive along Chapman's Peak Drive. The drive to Hermanus is also beautiful. The wine area is also easy as a day trip. We visited Stellenbosch, Helshoogte Pass and Franschhoek. Here's a link to my Cape Town day trips.
