I will be visiting Inrael in April for a wedding in Tel Aviv and want to spend a few days in Eilat. We are deciding whether to fly both ways, drive both ways, or fly one way and drive the other. If we drove it would be to see the desert scenery but I wonder if there is much to see from the new road. Anyone have any advice?

Marc,

The desert scenery is indeed beautiful and a decision about whether to fly or drive would also be dependent upon :

1) how much time you have, as the driving time from Tel Aviv to Eilat would be about 4 hours

2)whether you would like to, for instance, make a stop for a night or two at the Dead Sea (a great place to visit if you have not already been there (and even if you have!)).

3) how queasy (or not) you are on flights as these short, low-flying flights to Eilat are quite bumpy.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
