Great photos, Kim!

You visited two of my favorite nature spots; Banias and Ein Gedi. We have great photos taken in 1978 of my daughter in the pool under the Ein Gedi falls; as she was only five at the time, she headed in fearlessly. Such a gorgeous spot!

Your photos of Bet Sh'ean brought back memories of my visit there in 1993. But I was there in July and mostly remember the incredible heat, which took a bit of the pleasure off seeing the incredible ruins and excavations.

Nice trip!

Great phots, Kim! The blinding light as it reflects off the Jerusalem stone is unique in the world and it came true in the pictures taken. Beautiful family, too!

I also enjoyed your photos! Israel is a place I have always wanted to visit but I just realized after looking at your photos that I have not really seen much of Israel through photos before. Smile

Thanks everyone! Going through the photos was great fun. Now, Sammi's talking about returning to Israel for her Bat Mitzvah trip. So if it works out, we'll be back in two years!

Dorit, do you know what I realized when I went through those pictures? We never got pictures of us together!

Yeah, I'm torn with Sammi b/c I was looking forward to taking her to Paris but the idea of returning to Israel is too much. Actually, Becky's hoping to do summer pilgrimage to Israel in 2009 (year of Sammi's Bat Mitzvah), so what we'll probably do is pop over early for two weeks before Becky's trip or meet her at the end of her trip. She's very psyched b/c that would mean 6 weeks there. Anyway, we'll definitely talk as things get closer Smile.

Yup, we never did take any pictures together. All the more reason to meet again!!!

It sounds like your girls really enjoyed their time here so much. That is SO wonderful. Already thinking of returning is your best confirmation of how great they felt here. It is nice to hear that.

Linda -

My husband and I will be in Israel from the 26th til March 8th. We will be in the north for almost the entire first week, with the last 4 days in Jerusalem.

Don't know if our paths will cross, but in any event, would love to compare notes with you when we get back!

In any event, I'm psyched too. Have a great trip!

Terry,
We will be in Israel from 2/17- 2/28. The 25 -28 we will be in Jerusalem at the Olive tree Hotel. Will you be in Jerusalem at that time? It would be fun to gtg!

Linda, I'll also be there those dates--Probably getting on my plane to come home the morning Terry arrives! But I'll be in Haifa when you're in Jerusalem.

Linda -

BTW, was all of your deposit applied from your cancelled trip from this summer? Any problems there?

Kim, I am late with seeing this post, but thank you for sharing your family trip. I really enjoyed seeing things through yours and your daughters eyes.

We almost made it to Isreal a few years back, but it didn't happen and now I don't know when it will. This was a nice glimpse.

Thanks Wendy and Pauline. Pauline, people brought tupperware containers to the beach with them and filled them with mud to bring home. Sammi and Becky each bought a "bag" of it too. Then, when we got to our hotel in Tel Aviv, they gave us little gift baskets with that stuff in them too. It's darn heavy to bring back though.

Wendy, you should try to go. Amazing country - Sammi keeps waffling between returning to Israel or going to Paris for her Bat Mitzvah trip. Tough decision but I think I'm hoping for Israel.

Yes Kim, I am sure we will make it there at some time in the future. We almost booked something for this coming fall, but decided to take the easy road this year after our agressive and event filled trip last Oct.

I had read that maybe Sammi would choose Israel for her Bat Mitzvah trip. But didn't you mention you might get Paris too? I hope you get both, and you do have two years as you say to ready yourselves.

Again, really good representation of your trip in your photos. I am glad I went to the "Rest of the World" forum. I rarely do get there. Thank you. Wendy
