Hi all -- I am just beginning to work on plans for a choral performance tour to Argentina that will take place sometime late May, early June 2007 (time of year dictated by our director's availability). We will be working with a great tour agency that will give us a recomended itinerary, but they are good about including any wishes we have. This is an area I've not visited, and other than Buenos Aires, I don't know enough to be an informed organizer. I'm reading guidebooks and looking at websites, but if anyone has any "don't miss" recommendations, let me know.

We are, by the way, an adult chorus - average number of travellers on past international tours has been between 45 and 70; age range early 20s to late 70s.

I have looked at the recent Argentina trip report, which I found very interesting. Thanks to Caplanco.

Need more details like how long you will be there, where your tour will be taking you, how much free time you have etc.

Rar-- we will be on tour for two weeks. The where we will go is still to be decided, and that is where I would like suggestions: Mendoza? Cordoba? Somewhere else?

I'm assuming you'll go to Buenos Aires... Mendoza is for wine lovers and it's supposed to be a lovely city. Cordoba is not the prettiest city but has the Sierras around it, with lots of cool little towns. Salta is very nice with tons to do around it. Rosario is reputed to be nice, as is Corrientes. Bariloche gets a lot of tourists and is in a very beautiful area.

I'd very much recommend a Moon Handbook to Argentina (vastly superior to other guidebooks) and read up on these spots and decide which is best for you.

Rar - thanks for your suggestions. I'll look for the Moon handbook, too. Useful information.
