Yes, a truly great life not only for his conquest of Everest (with Sherpa Tenzing's help of course) but for what he has since done for the Sherpa's and Nepal.

There was a nice cartoon in the papers here showing him being welcomed at the pearly gates of Heaven by St.Peter saying 'Welcome Back'...
