I really love to travel around China and watch the coming olympic games in Beijing but money is my greatest problem.. All I can do is just sit in front of TV and watch the news or sit in front of the computer and surf the internet for updates of the events and watch beautiful photos of places in China. Refer me some sites...
I saw some nice pictures in ctrip.com. There is a English version:http://english.ctrip.com/ Click "more", then you will see a search box. Type in 'Jiuzhaigou' - a famous national park in China. Enjoy the pictures!

Read the book River Town by Peter Hessler for a good view of his experiences teaching in a town on the Yantze River for two years. If you can find it, I bought DK's new book on China. It is full of beautiful photos about China. Also National Geographic has a good travel book on China. I used all of these to prep for my recent trip to China.

We were in Beijing in the summer of 2006. Our visit to the Beijing Ethnic Minority Park gave us a view of the Olympic Stadium called 'the Nest' about half mile away which was under construction. The smog was so bad that we could barely make out its faint shape from such a close distance.
A friend shared this link to some photos of Huangshan in Anhui province. http://www.wunderground.com/wximage/viewsingleimage.htm...Bangkrood&number=714 I also found a panoramic picture of one structure in the Beijing Ethnic Minority Park. http://www.panograph.hu/360arts/details.php?image_id=883 The picture is interesting, but the site takes a long time to load. The park isn't on any tourist list. We requested to visit it after seeing from the road between the airport and the hotel. It's a bit like the Polynesian Cultural Center for China's minority groups. Each minority group has an area depicting houses, gardens, and other essentials that are representative of their way of life. Even our guide learned something new about ethnic minorities on the tour. It's definitely worth a visit and not overrun with foreign tourists.
