Brenda -

Great report. You given me lots of new ideas. We've been now for a total of five weeks over the last two years and I am just amazed at how very little of the surface we have scraped.

Shame you didn't like Kumbalgargh that much. We had a fantastic visit. Gorgeous sunny day and during 2 hours, we saw a total of 5 other tourists (all Indian). I kept telling my wife, a fort this magnificent in France would be completely mobbed any time of the year. In India, it's just another gorgeous site to visit.

I'm convinced that there is no place in the world with a culture as rich and deep as India.

About pictures, we took over 900 (plus about 5 hours of video). We have weeded the photos down to around 500, but then we got busy and haven't done anything with them for a few months. I want to cut down further and print some for an album, but I don't know when. We are going to Bhutan, Burma and Laos next month and I will try to write my diary and take pix with a trip report in mind. This India report is just excerpted from our annual newsletter.

Great Trip report. If you do get your photos weeded down, I can help you upload them to Slow Photos. We'd love to see them.

You will be visiting two countries that I am very interested in on your next trip, Bhutan and Laos. I hope you post another trip report. I'd love to hear about the countries.

Thanks for a great trip report - I'm just starting to plan next year and India is very high on the list (as is Bhutan and Burma - what are your plans there?)

We were in Laos last year and loved it - where are you going there?

Hi LizS,
We are using Scott Wild of Wild Card Adventures
(800 590 776/swild7@juno.com) for this trip. He
arranged Vietnam and Cambodia for us in 2000, and
we were pleased with the trip. On this May/June trip
we are spending 10 days in Bhutan (at, I think a
much lower daily cost than most tour companies) only
4 days in Laos (mostly at LP) and 2 weeks in Burma.
We are meeting our son and daughter-in-law in Bangkok
and doing the whole trip with them, so it will be just
the four of us. I hope to write a trip report afterwards,
but let me know if I can answer any questions before then.
