Ahh... my turkish friends complain everybody steals their thunder. The greeks claim their cheese-Feta, the dutch their native flower -tuips. However no one here can tell me where the great Turkish tulip gardens are.... I am in Istanbul anybody have a clue?

Here is a post that might help for Istanbul. Native 'wild' tulips are farther east. From what I can tell on-line there is a tulip festival in Emirgan Park in Istanbul. This web page has been referred to for information on how to get to Emirgan

Thanksö ıt seems that most of the tulıps are just ın publıc parks as the artıcle you sent me explaıns. When I asked locals about a tulip festıval I was told that there would be posters but I guess the electıons crowded them out.

Actually there is a nice tulip garden just behind the Topki palace. Lots of locals go there and one in front of the Sumanata Mosque. The once behind the palance is nicer if only to watch the locals. Still, apparently nicer than before but not up to Kirkenhoff NL (sic) standards but that is ok they are doing their best after all it is a citz of 15 million.
