Hi

Last year I went to Bangkok and Samui with my wife. I have now posted a Bangkok trip report on my page http://gardkarlsen.com/Bangkok_trip_report_2007.htm and as you will see it includes pictures, links, a Google map, videos etc. I hope that this can be of help to first time travelers to Bangkok and at least give an impression of what you can expect of Bangkok. Part 2 of the trip report (Samui) will be available soon Wink

Feel free to get in touch if you have any comments or questions :-)

Hi Gard - thanks for posting this - also really looking forward to your Capetown trip report - considering spending 2 months in Africa next winter with about 3/4 weeks in or around the Simonstown area - what do you think of that plan?

Hi

Well, the Cape Town area is beautiful so I have loved to stay there for a 4 weeks :-) The scenery with the ocean, mountains, beaches, the wine land etc is beautiful.

Bangkok, what a city!

And, Gard, what a report!

You really, really made this city come to life with your descriptions, photos, films and all sorts of links, hints, ideas - and just general overwhelming enthusiasm!

I now feel the need to go back again and fill in all the gaps.

Thank you! It was an astonishing read!

Hi

Thanks for the kind feedback. I'm glad to hear that I have been able to give a true impression of the city. I was not sure how to present the report this time...as I have been there several times I'm getting used to some of the strange things that you can run into in Bangkok. But I do hope that there are some useful tips for first time travelers to Bangkok Big Grin
