I want to take a quick week vacation end of May to either Costa Rica or Dominican Republic. I want to keep a relaxed pace and manage to see all the important parts of the country, also want to do some snorkeling and don't want to deal with too much rain. With this in mind which of the two destinations do you think would be a better option? I'm leaning towards Dominican Republic.

I have read that this is the wet time for Costa Rica and a week may not be enough to see everything at a slower pace, also I heard the snorkeling is not that great in Costa Rica. Opinions?

I suspect with a week, you will be better off with Dominican Republic. The sites for Costa Rica are on both coasts and up in the mountains so you will probably be on the go quite a bit if you are compelled to see most of the country. I also don't think of Costa Rica as a destination for snorkel or diving. It is a wonderful country and a great place to relax if you are interested in a beach location.

So, I'll be going to Punta Cana for 2 days, Santo Domingo for a day and then 4 days in Sosua!
