My guess is the same as yours. It is the start of the high season. I don't think very many members have been to Dubai. I know some of our Australian members have stopped there in transit to Europe. You might want to check over a Trip Advisor. It looks like they have several regular Dubai travelers. You can also find some great information on what to do such as this post.

Hi Gard, this isn't really related to your hotel question, but I have chronic pain and have had to research each country I travel to, to determine if I can bring in my pain meds. Entering Dubai will get me arrested. In fact, if I was on cruise ship that ported there and the meds are in my system, but left on the cruise ship, I could still be arrested. Don't know if this is relevant to you or your travel partner but thought I would mention it.

Hi Thanks for the feedback. Nikki and I went to Dubai a few years back (see the trip report on http://gardkarlsen.com/dubai.htm ) and since then I know they have built quite a lot so it would be fun to go back there to check out the difference. But I would like to get a better deal on a hotel :-) I have sent e-mails to a couple of hotels now and it seems like November is a very busy month in Daubi.
