Liz, terrific! So envious, your itinerary is my dream trip to Egypt. Will be following your blog. Lots of luck, safe travels and may all your photos turn out. -- Janie
Liz, have been enjoying your blog. We leave for Egypt on Sunday. Am already rethinking my packing based on current weather predictions and your blog. I, too, have some lovely linen things - but I might opt to bring along some items that will be a little warmer. Then again, who knows what we'll encounter weather-wise over the next two weeks.
Dear Richard & Liz - my monitor has drool marks from reading your blog & looking at the photos. SuzanneF - safe travels. Again, desperately envious of you all !! -- Janie
SuzanneF - have a wonderful time! It was warmer when we got to Luxor - hopefully will stay that way for you.
We visited Ajloun (Islamic fort from Crusader period) and Jerash (Roman city) today and then drove back via Amman - boy Jordan is a remarkable, overlooked country.
Tomorrow is Mt Nebo and Karak and then PETRA!. Have great guides here too. At their suggestion we've added Wadi Rum and Aqaba.....
Back at our beautiful Dead Sea hotel (with free internet) - could just sit and stare at the scenery here for days too.
Liz, enjoy the rest of your journey. I'll be catching up on your blog upon my return. Tom decided against bringing his computer so I don't think I'll be on the internet much (if at all) during this trip.
This time last year I was packing to leave for a month of travelling overland from Cairo to Istanbul and Liz your photos of Jordan made me want to do it all again tomorrow.
We are planning a return trip to Jordan and Syria, hopefully in 2009. Both countries are just made for slow travel.
Fantastic blog and photos! Thank you for sharing. Geoff will be in Israel on business this year sometime and I'm determined to turn it into a Middle East trip. If it happens Liz, I'll be PMing you! - Janie
