I now have everything planned and my training is going well. We leave August 1st and fly LA to Cusco via LAN airlines Business class! Full 180 degress flat seats! We then connect to cusco after a 9 hr layover at the airport. we will be stayin at the Lima airport Ramada.
5 days in sacred valley at the Sonesta Posada del Inca with 4 hikes planned 1.outside chinchero to Lamay with Huchay cusco 2. Pisac 3/4. two hikes at Olltaytambo Pumamarca and Huilloc and quarry and inca gate hike.

Good luck on the Marathon and with the elevation. We had the worst altitude sickness when we were in the Andes. We went from sea level at Arica Chile to 11,000 at Putre. I managed it by hydrating a lot but it kept my husband down for a day. I hope the Diamox works for you.
Your accommodations look great also. I'll check in your blog and hopefully you'll be able to post while in Peru. If not - do write some posts after you get back. We still have Machu Picchu on our list of places to visit in our lifetime.
