Could anyone please help me with information on ferries from main land Spain to Morocco. I will be travelling at the beginning of September by car and would like to spend a few days in Morocco. All hints and tips gratefully received.

Shortest crossing is from Algeciras to Ceuta or Tangier. (I did this almost 20 years ago, so won't be much help with details)
The ferry company Transmediterranea has that one and several others from various ports in Spain. I don't know if this line has car ferries- you'll need to do some checking. I know there are other ferry companies, as well.
