Why does Italy get all the messages? Lets try to build up the France message board. Then maybe we could have one for just Paris...

There's only one way to make that happen! The more active topics we have in this forum, the more momentum we'll build up.

Well, this is my contribution, a duplicate of a post on Everything Else:

QUOTE
Alea jacta est.
Les dés sont jetés.
The die is cast (or, the dice "wos" cast?).

The French above because Josette twisted my willing arm and we have just decided to go to Paris in late April, for about 10-11 days.

We'll stay at our usual place, Citadine-Louvres, an apart'hotel next to Comédie Française.

46th wedding anniversary dinner at our favourite Parisian spot, "Astrance".

And, as a bonus, this leaves me open September for whatever other trip which would start with an obbligato week in Rome.

A careful "yoopee!" and hoping health or other 1000 unexpected reasons don't sabotage the plans.

So far, we're doing great!! Now if we can just keep this level of activity up until it becomes a habit and attracts newcomers to join us, we'll have it made. Snail (I was looking for a French smiley and that little escargot seems to be the closest thing we have right now!)

I would like to also build up the France section on the web site. Send me your travel notes, submit reviews, etc.!!

Did you know that we have many words in French for smileys:
émoticons, binettes, frimousses, souriards (this one sounds more like Canadian French to me).

émoticon français

I was so glad to see this message, as I've had the same thought! Let's all make a special effort to start some new discussion topics... I've got one I'll post.

Dear Slow Traveler:

I am suprised to learn that there is less content on the France message board than Italy. France is the most visited country in the world with more the 70 million visitors each year. In addition, many of those 70 million visitors are passionate Francophiles who return as often as possible to enjoy the French lifestyle and to discover more of the diverse pleasures of this fascinating country. There is no greater testament to the benefits of a visit to France than the satisfaction of returning visitors. Perhaps French travelers have a such an appreciation for "slow travel" and the "slow French lifestyle" that they are "slow" to post messages!
