I have heard that the admission via Paris Musesum pass is limited compared to the pass you can purchase that includes the train ride to and from. What exactly does the one pass cover that the other does not? Thanks so much

Hello. I posted a similar question last year here.

Thanks you so much. The Paris Museum site states that the Marie Antoinette estate is covered with its pass,as is most everything else, but my Rick Steves Paris 2008 states it is not, and that the Versailles one day pass is a better option. Just checking. It seems that the Paris Museum pass covers it after all.

The museum pass does not include the Roboguide handset which the Versailles ticket includes. We paid the extra few euros for it. The website indicates that the following is included:
quote:
The PARIS MUSEUM PASS gives access to all the sightseeing excursions open according to the season: the 17th century Chapel and Hall, the State Apartments of the King and Queen, the Apartments of Mesdames daughters of Louis XV, Apartments of the Prince Heir Apparent and Galleries of the 19th century History of France and the domain of Marie-Antoinette.

Before we went last year we saw the Marie Antoinette movie by Sophie Coppola. The soundtrack was a bit edgy but it gave inside views of the palace and the domain of Marie-Antoinette. Just what we needed to get in the mood.

Will look for it at blockbuster or the library. My 17yo will probably love the edgy music. Taking a graduation trip. Cannot wait!! We leave June 8th.

Last week we went to Versailles on the Paris Museum Pass and got into Marie Antoinette's Domain, as well as the Grand and Petite Trianons. The Rick Steves guide and the Paris Museum Pass guide incorrectly state that the Pass guarantees entry through the side B gate but we were herded to the regular A line to go through the security. We went on the weekend to see the fountains.

Was the security line long (I'm assuming this is different than the line for tickets)? With a museum pass were the gardens/fountains included?
