Hi everybody. Time is getting closer to our first trip to Paris in May and I'm getting more and more excited. We have our plane tickets and apartment now and I have been reading reviews of restaurants and things to do. My big concern now is transportation to and from the airport. Especially to the airport because we have a ridiculously early 7:00 am flight we have to catch. Since we are staying in an apartment we don't have a concierge to arrange transportation for us and we don't speak french, so I would like to arrange something in advance. Does anybody know of a good shuttle company that can pick us up at our apartment which is in the 6th arrondissement at 4:00 am? And any ideas on how much it will cost? Thanks

I haven't used them myself because I prefer to spend money elsewhere in Paris Smile but Parisian friends whom I would trust with almost anything regularly use Grey Shuttle.

They are a private van service not a shared shuttle service despite the name. There are certainly cheaper shuttle services in Paris but I have heard enough horror stories about just about every one of them that I wouldn't use them myself.

I used Airport Connection in October 2006. http://www.airport-connection.com/ I prepaid the pickup and drop off, it cost $AUD136 for two people. We arrived CDG at 6.30am, when we got to the luggage pickup we had to phone the Airport Connection number (free) and were told where to wait. We were the only ones in the van. Our drop off was an apartment and we had a hotel pick up 4 weeks later. I was able to specify the pickup time (allow 30mins either side), the van arrived and we only had one other pickup before CDG. I booked everything online and had no dramas. Higly recommend this firm.

We've taken a shuttle before, but this past August I made an arrangement with a taxi driver the day before, and he was there to pick us up the next mornign with plenty of time to spare!

We used a taxi the last time we had an early flight. Asked a friendly Parisian to call us a taxi service the night before, and the cab appeared promptly at 05:30. That time in the morning there was almost no traffic, and we were at CDG quite quickly. If I remember correctly it cost around €40 from the 7th.

This may be a totally unacceptable solution since you already have your apartment rental. But (anyway), you could spend your last night at an airport hotel. Then you won't have to get up so early and they all offer shuttle service. You could even have a late hotel checkin the night before so you could have one last meal in Paris. Of course you have to still get to the airport hotel the night before your flight but you're not anxious about missing it.

I posted the phone numbers for several Paris taxi companies here a few days ago. One of these companies claims to have English speaking operators.
