I'm going to paris for a few days with my boyfriend in two weeks. I would like to make a reservation at a nice restaurant before I leave but I don't know of any.

I'm not looking to spend a lot of money, at most 30 euros per person. But I would really like a nice romantic french restaurant, considering my boyfriend and I are celebrating a belated valentine's day. Any suggestions?

Any restaurant suggestions would be helpful.

Lindsay,

I haven't been to Paris yet, but I'm going there next week. If you look on this site and others, you might find some restaurant ideas. Then I just e-mailed our hotel and asked them to make the reservations for us. They were happy to do so.

Good luck and have fun!

I would advise you to try www.patriciawells.com or check her book on Paris restuarants out of your library. We have tried several places she has recommended in the 7th and found them all to be good restuarants, and moderately priced (for Paris at least). One in particular that has gotten a lot of attention is Ze Kitchen Gallerie. She reviews it on her web site. There was another one that she recommended in her book that we could not find had a name that translates to something like "The Crock of Salt". The restuarant was not at the location given in her book but I think I saw someone on this message board refer to it at a different location. It sounded interestng because some items are coated with a crust of salt.

Here is a list of Patricia Wells' 2004 bistro picks. Here is another list of inexpensive Paris bistros by a frequent contributor to www.egullet.com -- click on the icon at the left to read more about each one.
