My son and I are traveling to Italy and have a 4 hour layover in France. We have never been to Europebefore. Is there anything we can see close by and not worry about missing the plane?

Are safe in assuming you have a layover in Paris, at CDG?

Hate to be a killjoy, but 4 hours at CDG or most airports is just enough time to make your connection. CDG, for example, is many miles from Paris, and is surrounded by an extensive area of warehouses and highways.

There's a decent restaurant in CDG terminal 2C called Bistrot Fontaine des Halles. If you have time, you might go have lunch there.

Like others have said, 4 hrs is only about 1 hr longer than my optimal connection time - so you really can't do anything else, other that see some of the airport.

I agree - 4 hours just isn't enough time to get out of the airport and back to catch your connecting flight.

HERE is a link to the Paris aiports website. You can search for restaurants, shopping and other amenities depending on which terminal you'll be using.
