I'm in Paris for two nights after my trip to Marrakech, and will be on my own. I'm looking for a photography workshop for half a day. I've looked into a few options, one with Peter Turnley [http://www.peterturnley.com/] who is amazing but I had to rule out because it's $800.

I looked at David Henry [http://www.davidphenry.com/Paris/Paris-photo-workshops.htm] but he's only available in the evening, and in his email he talked a lot about teaching me Photoshop, which was a turnoff.

I'm now looking at Don Smith at http://www.parisphotoworkshops.com/. He charges 180 euros for a 3 hour workshop. And I've inquired with Sophie Pasquet (I like her website the best) but have no response. http://www.sophiepasquet.com.

I would love to hear from anyone who has taken a photo workshop in Paris. This is my one splurge and half of my one full day in Paris so I want it to be worthwhile.

I agree - I like the look of Sophie's website and description of her services.

Here is one other thread discussing photo tours. I'm not certain if the tour surfmom took is still the same. The websites don't do a good job of describing the tour or services.

I realize I was incredibly lax and never posted about how the workshop went. It was a delight -- I learned so much and got some terrific shots. I highly recommend it!

I wrote a story about the experience on the Expeditioner travel magazine

t-mac,

Thank you for following up on your workshop experience. Do you feel that 4 hours was enough? Would you recommend the full day?

I have corresponded with Sophie and if I can get the time off work, I'm going to take a half day course with her.

Dana,

Did you stay in the Marais while you were in Paris?
