Has anyone had any recent experience with the Bee Shuttle Service from CDG airport? The posts I have seen are from one or two years ago. I would appreciate more recent feedback about Bee or other shuttle services. Thanks!

Sorry, I have not, but was just given the name of The Blue Van from the company we will be renting from next May. Perhaps, anyone knowing either of these companies could advise. I was told it's € 20 - € 25.

We've used Parishuttle in the past -- it's now 38€/couple. Bee Shuttle is now 34€/couple, Paris Airport Service is 30€/couple, and Yellow Van is 36€/couple. I've recently read some bad reports on Parishuttle, and I too wonder if anyone has had any recent experience with the other shuttle companies. Thanks for the help.

Sharon, here is the link to the web site of the Blue Van shuttle. I would still like to know if anyone has had recent experience and can recommend any of these companies.

I'm going to do some checking on both Bee and The Blue Van and will get back to everyone.

I had a horrible experience with Yellow Van in June 2006. The hotel booked a return trip to CDG. The van showed up at least 20 minutes after the reservation and proceeded to make other hotel pickups that were way out of the way to CDG. If the check-in lines hadn't been short at the airport, we would have missed the plane. When we stayed at the same hotel again this summer, I refused to be booked on Yellow Van. I will never use them again.

We had thought of booking a shuttle in May for our first trip to Paris but decided on a cab. I think the trip from CDG to Ile St Louis was less than 50E, only about 10-12 euro more than a shuttle and you get door to door service and no worrying about unnecessary stops. Something to think about.

We always go for the cab too. I may economize other ways when we travel, but after a plane trip from the west coast to Paris (in coach), I just want to fall into the back seat of a cab and be taken straight to our destination. I feel the same way when we're about to face the even-longer trip home.

I think some people feel more comfortable with a set fare and a driver who can speak English. But I agree that for a couple, a cab is worth the extra euros. Travelers on a tight budget may want to consider a shuttle when arriving and a cab when departing. This removes any worry about delays that could result in a missed flight.

I appreciate the feedback! However, since I will be traveling alone, a taxi is not as economical as it would be if I were traveling with one or two others! I still hope someone has had a good experience with a shuttle company. I have used Paris Shuttle in the past, but there were some problems and delays. I'm hoping for a better shuttle, but maybe that isn't possible!... If anyone has had a positive shuttle experience, let me know. If not, maybe I will have to take a taxi!!... Thanks for everyone's suggestions!!

I do not used them often as i have my car here, but the above were good.
another point is just one bad experience does not means the shuttle is bad. just my neutral five cents piece.

We used Yellow Van in April without incident. Called them toll free from a pay-phone at CDG and they were there within 10 minutes. A single woman traveler without a reservation negotiated a rate and transportation in with us. We had fun giving her a lesson in basic French on the ride in. Ours was the last of 3 stops into the city. Our anglophone driver was professional and courteous.

For our return trip we gave them an earlier (by 45 minutes) flight time and arrived before our check in staff returned from lunch (We were 3rd in line). I would rather wait seated in the airport than in traffic.

We made reservations through our hotel and observed that the hotel got a 5 euro per person cut the 18 euro rate. If you book it yourself, PERHAPS you could save that 5 euros ($7.00US). That would be in line with the rate that the single woman traveler obtained.

I have learned no matter what shuttle one uses, it's a great idea to give them an earlier flight time than your actual departure. We gave a time one hour earlier than our flight this summer and *still* only made it just in time to board the flight after the driver went all around Paris, lost, looking for one more pickup.

The cost of a taxi from CDG can vary greatly depending on your flight arrival time. Last time we were in France, we had nonrefundable train tickets to La Rochelle and had to take a cab to the station. It was morning rush hour traffic, and the cab fare was 60€. In general, though, I feel comfortable taking a shuttle, perhaps because we've never had a bad experience ourselves.

Thanks for everyone's input! I think I will try a shuttle again and hope for the best... I need to go ahead and make a reservation because I'm arriving in Paris on Friday! Whatever happens with the shuttle, I'm sure I will have a wonderful two weeks in Paris and Provence!! Thanks again!

An update about the airport shuttle--I'm back from France (of course, I had a fabulous time!!), and I did use Paris Shuttle when I arrived at CDG. Overall the service was good, and it's simple to use them (for example, you telephone them toll free before you pick up your luggage). They were not at the airport door when they said they would be (after I got my luggage), so I had to call them again. The woman on the phone apologized and said the driver would be there soon, which he was. So the exerience was OK--probably as good or better than most other shuttle services. The traffic was horrible into Paris, so I was really glad I had used a shuttle with a set fee, rather than a taxi. I would use Paris Shuttle again!

Thanks for the great feedback Kathleen. I think we will use the shuttle upon arrival and a taxi for our return flight.

Re: The Blue Van

We used it in September from our hotel in the Marais to CDG. The driver arrived at the set time. I would use it again.

If you use Blue Van, let us know if you are satisfied. I have never had a problem taking a shuttle from Paris to the airport. The problem is usually on arrival in Paris--that is, delays waiting for the shuttle to pick me up (when I am tired after traveling from the West Coast!). As I mentioned, I would use Paris Shuttle again, but I'm curious if anyone finds a shuttle service that is quicker on arrival. I'm already planning for my next trip!...

We also used to use PariShuttle until last year. We actually never had any problems with their service. But I got tired of having to wait for the van to arrive and/or for other people.

We rented from LetsParis last winter and they recommended ElyseesCars for airport transfers. Fortunately, they offered a discounted fee that made it affordable for us. My husband and I had good service. But my relatives had some problems - had problem connecting with the driver when they arrived at CDG and then again, we waited for an hour (very stressful) for the driver to pick them up for the airport - apparently due to heavy traffic. They arrived in CDG on time, however.

Anyway, we will use ElyseeCars again next month: CDG to our 3rd arron apartment.
