Story here in the Boston Globe about the $267 million makeover plan for the Tour d'Eiffel. Included will be an online reservation system (now apparently being tested) and expanded shops and restaurants to get tourists to spend more money.

Also, the story says that the tower will sparkle only 5 mins per hour rather than the present 10, starting in the fall, as an energy-saving measure.
