What a funny thread, thanks for the giggle!
We had to pass on the foie gras, ( I have to agree with you, Kevin) but really enjoyed the caves and ambiance. I wonder A in Parigi if we were in the same area at the same time as we stayed near Les Eyzies. We wanted to compare Lacaux II and such with Alta Mira in Spain which we had just seen. We found the English tour at Lacaux II a much better presentation, but enjoyed both as they supported one another...& education for our little one is our big focus. We enjoy it all as much as she does. Hee hee.
We really enjoy the French presentation ( the museum at Pont du Gard is one of our favorites) so we were not disappointed. We wanted to do a canoe ride, but the river seemed to high and wild for my knee problems this year.
We loooved Puy du Fou and think Disney could learn a thing or two from that park which is probably even better if one is fluent in French. ( We got the English translation, but they were probably not worth the money).Essential for families I think, but great shows for all. Some of the best horsemanship and falcon shows in the world. Amazing chariot races and jousting.
Little did we know that we were leaving France on the biggest holiday of the year & we ran into lots of traffic and the worst torrential rain on our trip on the way to the ferry in Roscoff. To add to that, a car rear-ended us in the stop and go traffic and knocked off our bumper, tail pipe, and ruined our entry stairs.
The good news is they spoke better English than our French and he was somewhat of a mechanic, so patched us together so we could limp our way onto the dazzling ferry ( even beat the fancy one from Barcelona to Rome).
We are patched up now and have kissed the Blarney stone, so ready for more thrills this year. At least we do not have to worry about too much heat this year. lol. We are going a little faster than usual as we thought this would be our last summer in Europe, but have decided to add one more as there is just too much to see yet. Two year and half is just not enough, you know?
So we will see more of France after Scandinavia and maybe again next year!
