I thought when the Jo Goldenberg Kosher resto closed for health violations, it might come back
but, alas they did not return. I loved staying in the Marais!

Like many Parisians, I ate there after it was attacked by terrorists, to show solidarity.
But frankly I did not find the food very good.
I much prefer the traiteur down the rue des Rosiers Finkelsztajn.

Please stop you guys - that's my old neighborhood and you are making me nostalgic... good thing it's 25 degrees and the Carpentras strawberries are out in full force, so I am not feeling too sorry for myself...

I think it is changing. It has become so fashonable that parts are losing some of their character. It is much different than it was in 1995 when I spent the summer in Paris and enjoyed walking in that area more than any other. We spent a fair amount of time there in February, and I was a little disappointed. However, like many parts of Paris that evolve over time, there will remain part of what makes the Maris what it is.
