I'm looking for a quaint base for a week in Provence/Var next September.

When I look at the map, I see that Cotignac and/or nearby villages would allow me to go on day trips to the Med as well as to Bonnieux, Cavaillon, Gordes and other interesting villages located north-east of the area.

Would this be a good choice?

Thank you for your help.

I think Cotignac is good and if in early September you may still see some lavender on the way, but it will have turned a mauve-greyishshade

Giny,
I almost want to keep this as "my little secret", but YES! Cotignac is a wonderful village and a great base for exploring. It is a working village, not super-touristy, and with much to recommend it (excellent restaurants, bakeries, a central "cours" with cafes, an excellent market, access to hiking...).

Cotignac is beautiful, but it is a 2-hour drive to Bonnieux/Gordes, and 1.5 hour drive to, say, St Tropez.
I recommend more nearby beautiful villages like Seillans and Callian.
And Entrecasteaux of course.

Thank you for your replies. I'm now looking for the "perfect" gîte in that general area.
