Hi

We will be spending 3 nights in Biarritz in a couple of weeks as part of our 4 week European tour. Does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants? Whilst we appreciate Biarritz is not going to be cheap, we don't want to bread the bank, especially with the euro/sterling exchange rate! Just good food at a decent price.

Also - are there any particular sights we should see in the town or is it just a case of wandering around and taking it all in?

Many thanks
Christine xx

The restaurant at the Casino is very nice, excellent food and service and not that expensive at all. And the view is terrific!

There are also a few nice restaurants on a litlle square close to a very old church (that square is accessible if you walk southbound on the path along the shore from the Casino )

If you have a car St-Jean-de-Luz, Ainhoa, Espelette and Hendaye are quite nice place to visit.

And hop in the sea at Biarritz, it is a must.

Thanks for that yymca6 Smile

Do you know the name of the square or the church? There appear to be several squares in Biarritz!

We are travelling by motorbike and already have plans to visit the places you mention on a ride around the surrounding area. It is really stuff to see whilst walking around the town I was wondering about.

Many thanks
Christine

That was in 2004 and I think it was on avenue Carnot. I know for sure itwas a walking street, very wide, full of restaurants that we could reach either by the Esplanade du Vieux Port or by Gambetta.

Thank you - we are staying very close to that area at Le Grande Large (which has garage parking for our motorbike - a real bonus so close to the centre of town!) I am sure we will find your square when walking around. Wine
