Hi Paul,
I don't know it but but but.
You don't mean Boulogne. You mean Boulogne-Billancourt.
Boulogne is a seaside city north of Deauville.
Boulogne-Billancourt is a suburb of Paris.
Kevin is going to tease me for being a Paris chauvinist again, but I "do" cities, I "do" the campagne, I don't "do" suburbs.
But I have been to 2 of the restaurants managed by the chef in the past: Marius et Janette in Paris, which I liked a great deal, and Auberge du Moulin in Lourmarin, which I found erratic, from the sublime to the iffy.
I have one silly question when I look at the website. This is supposed to be a soigné, gastronamic joint. Why those uncomfortable folding chairs for dining, I wonder…

Red Face Shortly after I finished my post, a little voice in my head said "Perhaps you should have added the other word after Boulogne...." Thank you Nancy for your correction and details. I completely hear you. In the short time we have in Paris, the LAST thing I want to do is take the Metro out to the "suburbs", BUT the restaurant is run/owned by my bosses sister/chef-brother-in-law and we have been promised an experience to remember as "guests of the house". This may sound gauche, but given the horrific situation with the dollar, my partner & I are actually looking forward to a situation where we will be spoiled rotten and not have to worry about all of those euros it would cost! Come to think of it, if my bosses sister/brother-in-law happenned to own a QUICK franchise in Paris we would probably take advantage of that given the $ situation! LOL

With the low greenback, you can either still eat in one of these gastronomic high spots (all of them aren't prohibitively expensive though) or choose a good-value restaurant like le Pre Verre, an excellent and convivial restaurant with an incredible wine list full of artisan wines. It is located near Boulevard Saint Germain, see the map on their website.
There's another excellent venue for food and wine in Paris (near the Canal Saint Martin): le "Verre Volé", a tiny place with the best of French artisan and natural wines. Call to reserve for these two places, especially for dinner, it is easily full, especially the Verre Volé (if it is full, you still can buy a bottle to go as it is also a wine shop. the prices begin at 4 or 5 Euro a bottle).
