My daughter and I will be in paris for a week in June. We are thinking of taking a bike tour (i.e. Fattire or Viator) to Versailles. Anyone have experience with these groups? Or, could we do something on our own?

Elizabeth,

I want to wish you a belated welcome to Slow Travel. I'm going to top this to see if we can possibly get some feedback for you. I've seen some good comments on Fat Tire tours. Here is a recent newspaper article on the tour.

Ah, I see. I was wondering why anyone would want to bicycle to Versailles? Not the prettiest ride. You bike in Versailles.

There are plenty of threads here about visiting Versailles, which is fun and well worth the time. There is a Slow Travel Versailles Map to get you oriented.

The grounds are extensive. A bicycle would be handy for zipping around. Don't know that I'd want to lug it on the train. If you're accustomed to handling one, it might be fun.

Thanks!
