Due to a death in the immediate family, we canceled our trip in April. So no reports on the cute apartment in Goult, no decision on where to stay in Uzes, etc. We are thinking about rescheduling in late November for two weeks, one in Nice and one in the Luberon. I would imagine that the time of the year would not make a difference in Nice re things being opened. But what about the Luberon re restaurants, daily markets, shops? Also what kind of weather would we expect then? We are from Chicago and anything above 40 would be warm!
By the way, for Mother's Day I received an autographed copy of the book "We Have Always Had Paris ....and Provence" by Patricia and Walter Wells. My children know me well!
Thanks for any comments/advice.

Sorry to hear about your April trip being canceled. As for November in the Luberon, most restaurants, shops etc will be open. Us poor slobs who live here year round do still need to eat... Places tend to take vacations (and close down) in January and February, but even then there will always be restaurants open, just not the choice during the season. Markets are always going, though some can be quite a bit smaller with the tourist crowd out of the way.

It's generally a nice time to be here, though the days are shortish and weather can be a bit iffy (by our standards). Figure on average daily highs from 50-60 degrees and nightime lows down to 40ish.
