Please could you give recommendations on the most reliable shuttle services between Paris and CDG.
What is the difference in price these days between a taxi and a shuttle?
Thanks

i would say depends on the number of people/luggage.taxis are more convenient but more expensive:around 45-60 euros. Shuttle can be cheaper if share in a group.
this is one shuttle service widely used

this is another one

this is a nice taxi service

i have used them sporadically as i normally drive of course: but they are all reliable.

Thanks for the quick reply
There will be 4 of us travelling from our Paris hotel to CDG.
I have heard that it is difficult to get a taxi for four people?

I used shuttle Paris and they were afforable ($35.00 per way) prompt, cheerful, helpful and skilled drivers.

We did even think to do a shuttle but if it's cheaper than a taxi.....Ginger, you seemed happy with Shuttle Paris. Did you call them once you got there or was someone waiting? Did you do a private shuttle (that's definitely more) but a shared shuttle seemed like a good deal and you'd get to see a little more of Paris if you made a few stops. This might be the way to go for us. Janice

I do NOT recommend Yellow Taxi shuttle, which many hotels use. Our group of 5 used them from Paris to CDG in June. The van was almost 15 minutes late and went way out of the way to pick up one more passenger. We got to the airport almost 45 minutes later than I expected. I was a wreck.

I usually use a taxi. I was able to get a taxi for 5 (plus luggage) from Gare de Lyon to our hotel. And our family has gotten taxis from the airport into Paris. Your hotel can arrange a taxi for your return. There will be a pick up charge, but for 4-5 people the price is comparable to a shuttle.

It is not difficult at all. There is, however, a surcharge. Four of used a taxi, luggage and wheelchair - surcharge for fourth person and luggage which goes in the trunk.

For a group of 4 a taxi would probably be the most economical. Remember you pay a surcharge on the fare when the taxi comes to the hotel to pick you up. An alternative would be to walk to the nearest taxi stand. With a large group, and 4 is a large group in France, just pay the surcharge for the taxi to come to the hotel and stop worrying about it.

If you were solo (as I often am), I would recommend public transport. With a large group, however, the cost saving plummets.

On your way to the airport, you should pass St. Denis, the church where all the kings of France are buried. Look out for it and wave to a last bit of France as you come home.

Thanks..
I was wondering why the fourth person paid a surchage for sitting in the trunk, that perhaps it was more comfortable!!!! Big Grin

I booked online ahead of time and then called once we reached CDG. We only waited 10 minutes so I suspect they were already in route for the other passengers. It was a shared shuttle. The only problem was trying to figure out how to use the phone to call the company. They are in the terminal lobby after customs and you just pick up the phone and dial. I thought you needed a phone card or money. Our driver was very nice, spoke good English and gave us a mini tourist lecture on our way. He was tipped accordingly. Smile

I used the paris shuttle and booked on line. It was fine. However, for a party of four it would be as cheap or cheaper to use a taxi. They also mpick you up very early for the return to the airport. On one trip a taxi driver offered a flat fee if I would call him on for the return to the airport which I did. I don't know if this is unusual or not.

English is a tough language. Serves me right for not double-checking before posting. I saw my posting later but too late to fix. At least I gave you a good laugh! Happy

I used Paris Shuttle from airport to my hotel. I reserved in advance on the internet. All worked out fine - called the toll free number from a payphone in arrivals - the instructions were pretty clear when I booked using the internet as to how to call them. My daughter and I were the only two on the shuttle, so it was effectively a taxi. My concern with 4 people wouldn't be seating - it would be how much luggage you need to fit into the trunk - that can be a limiting factor more than the people.

We used the shuttle service last year - four people with one 22" suitcase and carry-on each, plus purses PLUS a wheelchair - no problem.

I just booked the Airport Connection Shuttle. It can't be any more convenient! The price is right too. Thanks for the tip.
