When in Paris, we have a choice between Hotels. One is Les Degres de Notre Dame, and the other is Hotel Grandes Ecoles. Does anyone have an opinion on either one of these.

i usually do not stay in hotels in Paris but from my parisien friends and locals sites: they are both fine hotels.
les degres de notre dame is of course close to the cathedral and it has a view of it and the river seine.
grandes ecoles is in the latin quarter and near rue mouffetard very lively street for shops and bars

Hi John,

I don't know the Degres de Notre Dame. Have visited the Grandes Ecoles, though not stayed there. It's attractive for the setting, on a couryard, with a bit of an old time, provincial feel. I assume you've looked at reports like those on Trip Advisor. I do recall some remarks about the quirkyness of the front desk in dealing with guests around room assignments and so forth.
