Three of us will be taking a canal cruise on a self-drive penichette leaving from Agen. We thought it might be more economical (and time saving) to take a taxi from Toulouse to Agen rather than a taxi to the train station (in Toulouse) then the train to Agen and then a taxi to our hotel in Agen. My question is, does anyone have any idea how much this might cost or how I can find out how much ? Maybe someone that lives in Toulouse or Agen can give me an idea of how much. Thanks

You do realize that you are looking at a taxi ride of 117 km?? I would be very surprised if a taxi was cheaper - remember that they will also have to get back to Toulouse, and so would probably charge you double.
ohh yes taxi from Agen to Toulouse: my lord no. the train is so easy straight to and from, the gare=train station is in city center so very easy to move: great area thus i was just there for the Tour de France, and family members in Gaillac and Toulouse.
in fact I bet you can easlily walk from where you are in Toulouse to the train station, it has great hotels nearby too. i walk from the train station all the time to my hotels and bars:: business meetings:: within 15 mins walks.train ride is about one hour, Toulouse to Agen
We took a taxi from Valance sur Baise after our one way trip on the canal and Baise river and it was a 50 minute drive and quite expensive. It was about 50km. We can't remember how much but think it may have been about E70 with a tip on top of that. We picked our daughters up from the train station at Agen and it was only about a kilometre from the Locaboat location. Have a great time. Jill
