In the past, we've vacationed in Normandy, Brittany, the Dordogne (twice), the western and eastern Pyrénées, and the Languedoc. When we were based in Uzès, we visited Avignon, St-Rémy, Les Baux, Arles, Aigues-Mortes and the surrounding areas.
I'm now planning to spend one week in the Var (Callian) next September and am wondering where we could spend the second week. We always rent a gîte, which we prefer to a B&B.
Any suggestions?

Ardèche: listed beautiful villages Vogüé, Balazuc, Vinezac, Thuyet, Alba la Romaine, St Thomé, St Montan, Jaujac, Antraigues, Chalençon, etc. or the Lot and Aveyron, on which there is a lot of info on slowtrav.
Giny - I think you may have posted this twice - once in France and once in Everything about Travel. We moved the duplicate here and I'm going to close it.
