I subscribe to a little publication called "Paris Notes" that comes out once a month. It totals eight pages each issue, which are basically typewritten sheets with a little graphics and few pictures.
It is written by Americans for Americans interested in Paris. It has articles of current events, restaurant reviews (which are often of the high priced/Michelin star variety), tips on unusual things to see, etc.
I am going to let my subscription run out, as it is, frankly, a bit pretentious for me, and I prefer more comfortable and cozy restaurants, etc. Also, my wife and I don't get to Paris very often, not as often as we would like.
But it occurs to me that perhaps some might find it useful. The publication has a website: http://www.parisnotes.com/ It is a nice little publication, just not for me.

Hi there,
Thank you for this link, it looks interesting.

The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.
I've subscribed to Paris Notes for several years now. It's a great little publication, with no advertising, although I'm thinking I might let my subscription lapse for just the reasons you mention. The website contains some sample articles and a recent sample issue that would help people decide if it's for them.

As a subscriber for several years, it is a wonderful newsletter and I have learned much about my favorite foreign city. I have relatives in paris (10) that are not aware of most of the information gleaned from Paris Notes. The latest issue contains info about the October 5 all night openings of museums , public buildings and then early breakfasts at sunrise..
I'm also a subscriber, and always learn at least one thing, usually several things, interesting and informative in each issue. The article in the current issue about a day in the life of a Paris metro driver was interesting this time (for what one learns in it about the Paris metro system), and the news about the 'all night' museums and then breakfast as mentioned earlier. I'm a fan!
