After reviewing the Versailles website and associated other sites, I still cannot determine if the fountains operate only on Sundays in the Summer. I thought that I could find the answer in Pedmar's postings, but for some reason, I cannot find the specific one. If anyone knows the current summer schedule for the fountains, I would appreciate a response. Merci.

For the skinny on the Versailles website, begin at the Spectacles page. Allow the stupid little Flash links to load in the middle. Click the one that will eventually read "enter the web site." Clicking that will open a new page which should have all the info you need. (This doesn't look like the site I used for our trip; the old one was easier to navigate.)

Our daughters visited Versailles just over a week ago, on the Wednesday I think, and none of the fountains were operating at all.

We went to Versailles on a Saturday (April 5th) and the fountains were on. Unfortunately a heavy rainfall followed so we didn't walk around.

Yes, I gather that at the moment, it's weekends only for the fountains, and that's not just the special light and water displays you might have read about: they weren't running at all when our daughters were there.

The fountains run on Saturday and Sunday during the summer, but not all day. It's only for about an hour in the morning and an hour and a half in the afternoon.

We just returned from a Saturday at Versailles. The fountains were on at 11 when we got in but were off before I knew it. They came back on at 2:30 and the music came on at 3:30.

Thanks to all that responded. It appears that the fountains are operating on the weekend, perhaps the music also at certain times.
