We are spending 3 days in the Loire Valley-have a place booked in Amboise; then we head out to Avignon where we will rent a car & continue on to St Remy for a week. From Amboise (or St Pierre des Corps station) do we have to train back to Paris, then take another train to Avignon? Or does anyone know if there is a train we can take by another route? Obviously we'd like to get to Provence in the quickest amount of time possible.

I tried last night and again this morning and can't get the #### sncf site to give me anything but a technical error no matter what route I choose. However, at www.raileurope.com, it looks like you can either go back to Paris for a fast train to Avignon, or take a slow train to Lyon and change trains there for Avignon.

RailEurope is reportedly more expensive than buying directly through sncf, if you can get it to work.
