I'm overwelmed by all the info on the net on this subject, so HELP please. We are a couple, plus one male ,one female, not an item, all over 6. So we need 3 rooms. The male has visited France over 12 times over his working life in the Australia Government service, most of this to Paris and surrounds, so is keen to see the the country side ,as are we. We are experenced Europe drivers, We are good friends because we love food and wine and have long lunches often. The female is a great, inventive, cook, but we will eat out often. We think that a self drive would be best BUT ?? I would like to get some contacts to get further information from, as well as where to go. Thanks in advance Don.

These talk about trips in Aquitaine and Burgundy regions. Also do a search on this forum for a couple of previous threads on planning a canal boat trip.
Don - Our first trip to France was by self drive boat in Burgundy on the Soane and Seille rivers. Still the best vacation we've ever had. We rented from Crown Blue Line and were very happy with the boat and the service. Our route involved a minimum of locks, nice if you're not used to them. Plese feel free to email me about particulars - sigmonbs@mindspring.com
