In researching several places to stay in various cities for our upcoming trip to Madrid/Andalucia, I came across the above hostal.
It is listed as #20 on tripadvisor (out of about 350 hotels) and gets mostly very high marks.
It seems to be located very very well and the price is unbelievably inexpensive (about 50 Euros for a double including tax but not breakfast).
If anyone here can give me personal experience about this hostal, let me know whether indeed it is located well in the old city of Madrid and convenient to "typical" tourist locations (we have never been to Madrid and so we will want to do what is typical), whether it may be a good place for a few days, and anything else relevant, I would be very grateful.
i have not stayed but its a good location and have not heard anything bad about it,when I go in which is every year for life it seems, i have stayed often at this one www.hostal-laplata.com
Dorit, I also don't have personal experience with the hostal but I did stay at another place right up the street and I loved the location. if it gets good reviews and the price is right, go for it!
I will be in Madrid in October and both of these hostals look appealing to me. Dorit, if you decide to stay at Cruzol I would love to hear about your experience. Pedmar, the hostal-laplata site says "private bathrooms" does this mean in-suite?
