We are looking for simple, family friendly restaurants or tapas bar. We might also go for a day trip to Cordoba.

I have a few suggestions from Maribel's Seville guide and the recent Tapas bar article on T&L, but I'd love some more updates. Thank you!

Letizia, we have a couple of recent reviews on slowtrav...
Click on "older reviews" to bring up more.

I really enjoyed the tapas at Modesto - we had some little clams that were really great and pimientos de Padron, I think. The outside dining area was packed and I think dinner would be good there too. It looks like they have a few other restaurants as well.

Modesto

In Cordoba, my mother and I ate at a GREAT middle eastern restaurant... if it is still there, and if you want something different, try Comedor Arabe Andalussi in Plaza Abades. They have no wine or beer here - only tea, unless something has changed.

I hope you will write some reviews when you get back! Wink

Thank you Shannon
the Arabic Comedor sounds interesting. I have found several references to Modesto, so it must be surely worth a visit.

Block note and pen will be ready for reviews. I like to write them when I am still there!

We had a great lunch at habinata a Cuban influenced bar-restaurant. Can't remember what we ate, but thoroughly enjoyed both the food & the atmosphere.

Enjoy!

We really enjoyed tapas at Bar Las Teresas which was very popular and near where we watched flamenco one night ( don't miss it, my daughter loved it too!).

Maribel's guide has some great advice, but we were hungry after sight seeing one day, so stumbled on a place right across from the cathedral and fountain with red table cloths outside. We had two octogenarians with us and they could not walk another step, but I worried it would be yucky tourist food. It was great! Sometimes you get lucky, but I do not know the name.

DO go to Cordoba for the day, it is really easy to do, especially if you are staying in the Santa Cruz area which I highly recommend. We all loved the Mesquita and had a great lunch at El Caballo Rojo afterwards.

Seville is one of my favorite cities! Have fun!

Ah, thank you so much. While everybody talks about food in Barcelona, I could not find a lot about Seville.

I know, we'll also end up sitting at the first decent looking place with cranky hungry daughter.

That's why I never book anything, but I just love the planning even if we end up going somewhere completely else!
