Really appreciate all the help we've gotten through this site.
Now the question is,,,,, we have 2 nights in Segovia at the end of our trip.
Recommendations? We know we want to see the aqueduct, but not sure what else. Food, Hotel, Sightseeing ?????
Also, we will be taking the train in to Madrid for an overnight stay before our early morning flight out. Are there hotels near the Segovia train station? How should we get there? Anything else we should know?
Hi Ohana, I stayed at this hostal about three years ago. It is simple, very well priced and very clean. For such an economical hostal I was impressed that it had heating radiators, which were welcomed during the cold spell that met us and feather down quilts. It is not near the train staion rather one block off the main plaza up in the old town. http://www.hostalfornos.com/ Leaving the hostal, walking the street to the plaza major, there will be a pasteleria on the corner, many delicious temptations and tables to enjoy them while gazing at the street life. Besides the cathedral You will want to visit the castle/Alcazar. There are several artisan leather shops, with purses, wallets and even tack, along the route - walking- to the castle. The famous dish here is roast suckling pig and there are other more economical restaurants than the famous Meson del Candido in which to eat it. kathyk
