Does anyone have any suggestions for reasonably priced accommodations in San Sebastian? We'd like to spend less than $100 per night. We are fairly flexible with regards to bathrooms being ensuite or shared. We're just looking for a clean place within walking distance to the beach, sights, etc. We are staying for two nights in mid July.

San Sebastian is so small and so beautifully configured that anyplace you find is going to be within walking distance to the beach. I'm sorry I don't personally know of anything in your price range (that doesn't mean they don't exist).

I've also stayed at the Niza, but unless I'm mistaken, they don't have rooms in July for under 100e.

NicoleW, did you find anything in your price range?

I've only stayed in one place in San Sebastián - Donostia (a.k.a. "San Se"). It was Pensión Donostiarra, located right next to the Buen Pastor Cathedral, about 5 blocks to the beach and 5 blocks to "La Parte Vieja". High-Season rate for a double is 83 Euros. It's in an elegant building in a very nice neighborhood. The Bus Turistic (double-decker sightseeing bus) stops right next to the cathedral.

The above-mentioned establishment is a pensión, a family owned-operated budget hotel. So if this "budget hotel" goes for 83 Euros per night for a double at HIGH SEASON, imagine what HOTELS will cost. Yikes! Eek

Enjoy elegant San Sebastián - Donostia!

Saludos, BarcelonaMan

I also stayed in the hotel Bahia last year and thought it was a great hotel. Conveniently located and within a good budget. In my opinion, there are many good value hotels to choose from there.
