I'm in the midst of writing my trip report, and no recall that the word for "for rent" or "to rent" down in southern Campania is not the same as in Tuscany ( da affitare). But I can't recall whether the initial "a" is missing, or what. Any help here?

I do not know about Campania or Toscana but I say "in affitto" as "for rent" and "dare in affitto" as "to rent out".

It's the verb itself that seems to be different, not affitare, but a close cousin.

Could it be:

Fittasi ?

si affitta

affittasi
affittasi

Yes, Paolo, that's it. The initial "a" is missing. (And of course affittare should have two "t's", my error.)

Grazie molto,

M
