I was on another site that gives the sound for many Italian words. It is very useful but you really have to listen! Smile

The words they have for single (as in married status) are celibe/nubile. What is the difference between these to words?

celibe---> not married man
nubile---> not married woman

When you're in Rome, do as the Romans do.

I always used "scapolo" (escaped one) for bachelor. But think that the feminine "scapola" gets into body parts.

You'll also find that the English word "single" (pronounced with a heavy Italian accent seengol) is widely used as well Wink

As always a wealth of information here. Thank you!

I figured that one was for a man and one for a woman but was not sure. Smile
