An Italian friend sent me an email with that subject line: "sogni d'oro." I could read the message ok, but wasn't sure what the subject meant, except for the literal meaning "dreams of gold".

Did the message have anything about money? Lottery maybe?

No, not at all, it was just a note about her plans for the next few days (which did not involve money!) and saying she would write again soon. Maybe it was "sweet dreams" since I think she may have been writing just before she went to bed.

Sogni d'oro is the Italian way of saying pleasant dreams... or sleep well... or nite nite. It's a nice thing to say when you are tucking someone in.
