We welcomed the new year yesterday (was it only yesterday?) on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. At midnight the crowd started singing a song that we couldn't understand ... the only word that was clear was "viva". Does anyone know what they were singing?

Sorry no idea!
I will ask some expat florentine friends here in Madrid... isn't the internet really great? You (from the US) hear a song in Florence and somebody from Urbino asks her friends in Madrid... I love this!
